NAVIGATION GUIDE

I. OBJECTIVES

What is a Web Navigation Guide for?

To make accessing the information easier.

Given the vast amount of information published and maintained on the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade's (hereinafter, "MITyC") website, the purpose of this guide is to make it easier for visitors to navigate the site: http://www.comercio.es.

  • The guide will contain and define:
  • The navigation design and the different areas of the screen.
  • The content structure.

The development criteria as regards compliance with standards and accessibility.

II. AREAS OF THE SCREEN AND NAVIGATION

The following sections can be defined given the following distribution of information on the Trade home page:

[1] Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and Secretariat of State for Trade logos with links to their websites, upper tools menu with links to the contents in different languages, and a key word search engine. The different help options include: Navigation Guide, Accessibility and Contact Us.

[2] Useful links to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade website.

[3] Links to Franchisors and Distance Selling, Trade Commission of Spain Offices abroad, Country Channel, external PIDM (Integral Market Development Plans) link, COMEX-INVEX Statistics (Foreign Trade – Foreign Investment Statistics), Domestic Trade Prices, CITES (Convention on the International trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora)   Electronic Administration, external ICE (Spanish Trade Information Magazines) link, Sector Channel and Regional Network in Spain.

[4] Drop-down menus to access the website's three main channels: Foreign Trade, Domestic Trade and Foreign Investment.

[5] Links to websites with useful information related to the responsibilities of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade

[6] Links to the Electronic ID website and the AYUDATEC aid portal.

[7] Footer. Access to different parts of the website and links to the W3C.

III. STANDARDS AND ACCESSIBILITY

Pursuant to the Information Society Services and e-Commerce Act, we are working to improve accessibility of the Trade website.

All pages on the official Trade site (www.comercio.es) comply with all the priority 3 checkpoints (level AAA conformance) defined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG ) by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI ) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
